Arriving to this location by ferry is the most popular form of transport, with both car and passenger journeys departing from Falmouth Harbor, Woods Hole and Hyannis Harbor daily.

You are able to fly into Martha’s Vineyard Airport, which is located just 5-miles outside of Edgartown, from Boston, Hyannis, Nantucket, Providence, RI, and New Bedford, MA year round. For those travelling from further away cities, flying into Boston Logan International Airport and then taking a shorted flight over is the best option.

The Peter Pan Bus Line also runs a service across several cities which takes you over to the area.

With the island being surrounded by water and no main road on or off, the most convenient way to travel from the mainland is by ferry via the  Shepler’s Mackinac Island Ferry and Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry lines.

You are able to also fly over to Mackinac Island Airport which only takes 7-minutes. If there are no available flights from your location to the island you can first of all arrive at Michigan where you can then catch a direct flight.

If you are looking to drive over, following the I-75 to one of the ferry docks and then taking the ferry is possible.

The main airport in the city is Portland International Airport (PDX), located 6-miles away from the center of Portland and hosting 60 non-stop destination flights across the USA. From here you can hop on the Red Line of the MAX Light Rail which will take you to downtown in 40 minutes.

If you are looking to take a road trip to this location, with the interstate road system being one of the best, travelling in from any direction is possible. Some route may take longer than other but the scenery along the way makes it worthwhile.

Greyhound bus service offers transport from across the West coast with its own stop located on Northwest Station Way and Marshall Street in Portland. Another option is Amtrak, this train service has three lines arriving into Union Station, the Cascades, the Coast Starlight and the Empire Builder.

The nearest city nearby is Santa Rosa, situated 22-miles away. Here you can travel in via an Amtrak train from 65 different cities or a bus from 53 other cities and then hop on a the transit rail to take you over to Bodega Bay.

Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport is located 27-miles away offering non-stop flights in from 11 cities, from here you can then hire a car and embark upon a 40-minute drive or take a bus.

San Francisco International Airport is the closest major location to fly into as it offers both domestic and international flights from many destination. From here it is then an 87-mile journey either by train, bus or car to Bodega Bay.

When travelling my car, the main highway to arrive via is Highway 101.

This gorgeous and quaint resort village is based on one of the most popular Bass islands in Lake Eerie (the South Bass Island) . You can access by the Put in Bay Ferry.

Highlights include the International Peace Memorial, the Lake Erie Islands Historical Museum, the lakeside South Bass Island State Park which has a boat ramp and a stone beach, the Heineman Winery, and the Perry’s Cave Family Fun Center where you’ll find a limestone cave and a butterfly house.

The only way to reach this island located in the center of Lake Erie is by sea or air.

There are two ferry services that can take you over to Put-in-Bay from the mainland, Miller Ferry and the Jet Express. Both are available for pedestrian use, with Miller Ferry also allowing cars.

Put-in-Bay has its own airport. With only 2 runways, it is a small airport and might not host a suitable flight for you. The closest big airport to the island is Windsor (YQG) which hosts 5 airlines.

Driving to the coast is always a good idea. Reaching Laguna Beach by car is one of the most popular ways people arrive. You can either cruise along the Highway 1 or soak up the views by taking the Laguna Canyon Road.

Located just 16-miles away is the John Wayne Airport, Orange County. This boasts non-stop flights from 20 detitanations. You can then drive 20-minutes to the cost, grab an uber or jump on the bus.

The nearest Amtrak station is in San Juan Capistrano. You then need to take the OCTA bus to reach your location. This bus line also runs services across Orange County is you are travelling in locally.

The nearest major airport which provides an array of domestic flights from several cities across the US is Portland, Maine. It is then an 80-mile journey to Camden which can be taken by a hire car from the airport or with a bus service.

If you are looking to travel to Camden via public transport there are bus services providing 17 routes which connect to Maine with one of them being Greyhound. Another option is to take the Amtrak, although it has limited availability with only having one train running once a day from Portland to Camden.

Being located on Route 1, this location is on a lovely costal route which makes it a great place to road trip to.

The scenery here is charming with a shore path lined with Gilded Age mansions including the sprawling19th-century Black Point Estate and Gardens was once the fine summer home of the Chicago beer magnate Conrad Seipp which is now open to the public. A great way to travel to Lake Geneva is by car, as once you are there you can then drive to different picturesque spots around the lake. Driving to the lake is made possible by heading along Highway 12 or 14 depending on which direction you are coming from.

Milwaukee (MKE) Airport is a great place to fly into as it is only situated less than an hour away from the lake. Hosting domestic flights from over 30 cities across the county you are sure to find a route that suits you. From the airport it is then easiest to hire a car and drive to the location, but there are possible public transport routes via bus and train.

There is a bus station located in Lake Geneva Square which accommodates arrivals from connecting routes from surrounding cities.

Passengers are then able to take the Portland Metro Bus into the center of the city.

Portland Transportation Center is a great stop to get off at if you are travelling via bus or Amtrak. There are also other locations across the city for those arriving with the Greyhound bus service.

If you would prefer to drive here, coming along Interstate 84 or Highway 26 are ideal to travel along.

Situated in Redding is also the closest main bus and train station to Shasta Lake which hosts transport arriving via Greyhound bus service and Amtrak trains.

Cape Cod has Hyannis Transportation Center situated in the center making it possible for people to arrive from outer cities by train or bus.
