This cool and quirky gem nestled in Wyoming’s Jackson Hole valley is one of the most charming and much-loved towns in the US. Its surroundings – with lush green valleys, rugged mountains, racing rivers, waterfalls and pristine forests – are famously beautiful but the town itself has plenty of treasures too.
Expect a vibrant foodie scene, awesome microbreweries, art galleries, old-fashioned Western-style saloons and the famous Town Square which features arches made of antlers shed from the neighboring National Elk Refuge.

In the heart of Jackson, Wyoming is the pretty Town Square and on one corner of that square is the handsome Cloudveil.
This newly built hotel sits comfortably amongst the traditional verandas of this small western town, cleverly reflecting the architecture around it by using natural stone and wood from the rugged Wyoming landscape.
Inside the subtle themes of natural materials continue with quirky, smart furnishings and designs throughout. Guest rooms range from king-size doubles to balconied suites with astonishing mountain views, all beautifully presented in tasteful, calming tones.
There’s a very good bistro on site with an outdoor terrace for the summer and fire pits for the winter; a well-equipped gym and even a heated outdoor swimming pool.
Right outside The Cloudveil is an enormous choice of eateries, shopping, and entertainment. Marriott has created a great hotel, in the perfect location to enjoy Jackson.
2. Hotel Jackson – a contemporary, cool and Insta-worthy hotel located in the heart of Jackson Hole

Take a collection of upmarket log cabins, add 10 acres of private land, make a river run through, add boardwalks through the wetlands, and you have the gorgeous Rustic Inn Creekside Resort & Spa.
Add good dining, spas, pools, saunas, adventures, lots of national parks, and just a 10-minute walk to the centre of Jackson, Wyoming, and you have a very well-designed resort.

4. Snow King Resort – a stylish, trendy and fun resort an ideal stay for those looking for style and adventure
On the southern side of Jackson, Wyoming, at the foot of the Snow King Mountain is Snow King Resort. Conveniently located blocks from the town of Jackson’s famous antler arches, just a few minutes from Jackson Hole airport and Grand Teton National Park.
A vaguely alpine-feel hotel terraced in stone to maximise the mountain views with separate condos sprawling the grounds. Rooms and shared spaces are simply styled in a practical, corporate hotel manner with plenty of easy-clean and grey.
Condos are a bit nicer with warmer furnishing and outdoor terraces but, this place isn’t about sitting in the room, it’s about enjoying the outdoor space and activities.
In the summer there’s a treetop adventure park, cowboy coaster, alpine slide, and scenic chairlift as well as fishing, cycling, hiking trails and swimming pools. In winter it’s all about the snow.
The perfect resort for families that like to do things without breaking the bank.
5. Wyoming Inn of Jackson Hole – a chic, elegant and rustic hotel filled with character and charm
The Wyoming Inn of Jackson Hole is to the west of the town, just a little too far to walk to the centre but with plenty of amenities nearby.
An imposing and not attractive building from the outside it turns softer when inside with a gentle club-like Western theme created using rustic mountain tones and statement designs.
There are 69 rooms and suites continuing the lodge-inspired feel with soft lighting, subtle earth tones and wood trim giving the spaces a warm, very inviting coziness – all very similar to the more expensive hotels in the town.
Amenities include a decent fitness centre, a very cute hot tub and a really good restaurant serving excellent quality locally sourced cuisine. Overall, excellent value for money.
6. The Lodge at Jackson Hole – a rustic, stylish and fancy accommodation is located perfectly for those ready to explore
Out along the creek 1.2 miles west of central Jackson, Wyoming, is The Lodge at Jackson Hole. A large wood and stone chalet-style building themed in a mountain style with plenty of carved wood, stuffed animal trophies and antlers.
The rustic theme continues in the spacious guestrooms, some have fireplaces and sofas for those chilly Wyoming winters. Amenities include a spa, a very nice heated indoor/outdoor pool, a hot tub, sauna, and fitness centre.
There’s a warm lounge bar, although the on-site restaurant only serves breakfast. It’s a 30-minute walk into the centre of Jackson, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. A good summer or winter base from which to explore this beautiful region.
7. The Virginian Lodge – a newly renovated, retro and modern hotel surrounded by 13 acres of open land
Imagine traditional wooden ranch buildings around an enormous square courtyard of pools, terraces, and verandas with mountains in the background buffering that prairie wind.
All that’s needed to complete the scene is a handful of cowboys or a stampede of bison to fully set the Western tone.
Sprawled over 13 acres, The Virginian Lodge features comfortable rooms and suites, an RV park, restaurant, saloon bar, shops and a beauty salon (maybe this last bit is less wild west and more wild hair).
It is a charming full-on ranch experience, yet only 1 mile from the centre of Jackson, Wyoming. There are rooms, suites, and bunk rooms of all sizes, decorated in a tasteful, welcoming, simple style.
Public spaces are western-themed with plenty of wood, leather and stuffed animals, but without feeling tacky. In the central courtyard, there are two hot tubs, an all-year heated swimming pool, fire pits and seating areas.
The on-site restaurants serve hearty food and the saloon and liquor store take care of other essentials.
8. The White Buffalo Club – an upscale, unique and contemporary hotel featuring a spa and wellness center
In the centre of Jackson, Wyoming, fronting the pleasant Miller Park and with glorious open views of East Gros Ventre Butte mountain is the unusually named, and unusually styled The White Buffalo Club.
The impressive Midwest façade of stone and wooden tiles gives way to a fabulously unique interior of leather, more wood, fur throws and interesting metal statement pieces.
Its craggy, solid ambience oozes courage and full-on ruggedness which should be too much to bear but works perfectly. The rooms and suites are spacious and equally as quirky and enjoyable in design – some have balconies and private hot tubs.
There’s a good fitness centre offering training classes and yoga and a nice day spa for a massage.
In keeping with the hotel’s robust atmosphere, there’s an on-site steakhouse serving locally sourced food with fine wines and good whiskies.
9. The Wort Hotel – a sleek, historic and and quirky hotel that is one of the best places for live entertainment ideal for partying Millennials and Gen Zs
In the heart of Jackson, Wyoming, is the peculiarly named The Wort Hotel. Unusually bland on the outside, the inside is a riot of kitsch wild-west with plenty of chunky carved wood and yee-haw.
First opened in 1941, it’s a little dated but listed as a historic hotel, so I guess that’s ok. The speciality of this hotel is live bands entertaining in the bar most evenings. The Wort Hotel is a popular local venue for rousing music with a bit of stomping.
There are just 50 rooms and five suites available for when you’re all stomped out; each custom designed in the pseudo-wild-west theme and very comfortable after a few beers.
The rest of downtown Jackson is right outside, so it’s the perfect location to discover the delights of this really pretty town.

10. Huff House Inn and Cabins – an elegant, cozy and unique accommodation offering daily homemade cookies and complimentary coffee
Just across Cache Creek, a couple of blocks from the centre of Jackson, Wyoming, is the Huff House Inn and Cabins, a charmingly presented historic inn with accommodation spread through a small collection of buildings from rooms in the old house to suites in a modern outbuilding.
Each room is uniquely styled in subtle shades creating a warm, homely environment. Outside there is a pretty, secluded garden patio with hot tub and gas firepits.
It’s a bed and breakfast (excellent breakfast, by the way), so there’s no on-site restaurant, but it’s less than 10 minutes to stroll into town where there’s a massive choice of good eateries. A highly recommended stopover for people who like small and personal without losing their comforts.
11. The Alpine House – a cute, cozy and eco-friendly and beautiful accommodation that blends the outdoor lifestyle with a laidback atmosphere
A charming, unassuming bed and breakfast just a block or so from the centre of Jackson, Wyoming. Guest rooms and suites are bright and simple, yet tastefully furnished, there’s a big dining hall for the generous breakfasts and a comfortable library to sit and relax.
Out front is a peaceful, pretty little garden for the summer months with a few bicycles to borrow and tour the town. Inside you will find a small fitness space and Finnish-style sauna.
It’s located on a quiet street close to amenities and, although there’s no dinner restaurant on-site, the owners have an Italian restaurant right across the street.
12. Inn On The Creek – a picturesque and cozy accommodation perfect for a couples romantic getaway
At first glance, this looks to be on the very edge of Jackson, Wyoming, yet surprisingly it’s less than 10 minutes walk from the central Town Square.
Inn On The Creek is a fabulous bed and breakfast with the Flat Creek river running right behind and paths into East Gros Vendre Butte mountain just across the adjoining bridge.
There’s a very good choice of high-standard rooms and suites, all much grander than expected from the exterior, all comfortably furnished, some with private terraces and views across the picturesque creek.
Between the Inn On The Creek and the river is their charming, serene terrace for famously good breakfasts or evening drinks at the end of a hard day adventuring in this beautiful landscape. A truly special place to stay.
13. Parkway Inn of Jackson Hole – a modern, charming and trendy accommodation that is a walk away from the historic Jackson Hole town square
Tucked among aspens and pine trees, this cozy cross between a motel and boutique bed-and-breakfast with lovely scenic views is a 5-minute walk from Jackson Town Square, and 1 mile from the National Elk Refuge.
Parkway Inn of Jackson Hole is an immensely pretty building with verandas and white weatherboarding overlooking Miller Park with just the Flat Creek separating it from East Gros Ventre Butte mountain.
The wide variety of rooms and suites are comfortably furnished in a rustic mountain décor with some interesting carved cabinetry.
On-site amenities include a small indoor pool and two hot tubs, and a spacious fitness centre with men’s and women’s saunas. There’s a small snack shop on site with coffee but no restaurant although, with so many eating places right outside it hardly matters.

14. Spring Creek Ranch – a quirky, one-of-a-kind accommodation located in a wildlife sanctuary
High in the hills overlooking Jackson, Wyoming, is Spring Creek Ranch. Notably different from hotels in Jackson this place is comprised of suites, studios, entire homes, and villas perched around the hilltop in idyllic settings with fabulous panoramic views of the Teton Range.
Each separate building has private yards, patios, and balconies and is stuffed with all the necessities needed for a home-from-home. Everywhere is beautifully designed with comfortable, warm décor and quirky individuality.
There is a big seasonal outdoor heated pool, salt water hot tubs, an equestrian centre, a good spa, fitness room and two tennis courts.
You can even get a custom massage inside a tepee, enjoy a game of horseshoes on the Vista, or roast marshmallows over the open fire pit.
There are no restaurants or bars on-site, but each lodging has a fully equipped kitchen and there’s a good restaurant in the neighbouring Amangani Hotel.
15. Cowboy Village Resort – a cute, family-friendly and fun accommodation featuring BBQ facilities and a pool
Close enough to the amenities of Jackson, Wyoming, but far enough away to feel calm and remote is the Cowboy Village Resort.
A collection of great value, simple yet comfortable, log cabins full of modern conveniences surround a central building with an indoor pool, hot tub and fitness centre.
The cabins are different sizes, but all have kitchenettes, TVs, aircon, and some outside space. There’s no restaurant on-site but the wonderful restaurants, shopping, art galleries, and nightspots of Jackson are, at most, six short blocks away.
In winter there’s a free continental breakfast and shuttle to the ski slopes, in summer it’s just 15 minutes to Grand Teton National Park. Cowboy Village Resort isn’t luxurious, but is good, honest accommodation at reasonable prices – very useful if you have a family in tow.
